What Happens at a Bridal Appointment?
Searching for your dream wedding dress is one of the biggest moments in a woman’s life. You may have no idea where to begin, or you could have a clear idea of the style of dress you’re looking for. You might be feeling confident about choosing a dress, or you could need a little help. It can be equally overwhelming as it can be exciting, and that’s OK, too.
Your bridal appointment is an opportunity to look at a range of different dresses and try on as many as you wish. Our stylists are here to help you and make suggestions that we feel will show off your best assets and make you feel confident and beautiful.
What Can I Expect When I Arrive at Lily’s Boutique?
When you arrive at Lily’s Boutique, you’ll be greeted by our friendly and experienced team. You’ll be offered refreshments whilst we sit down together and have a chat about your wedding plans and your vision.
If you have any reference photographs, or have done any research, now is your time to discuss them with our stylists. This will help them to understand what you’re looking for and give them an idea of some dress styles to suggest.
Can I Bring Somebody with Me?
Of course! Please feel free to bring somebody with you to your appointment. We suggest you bring one or two people maximum, as it can become difficult to make decisions with too many different opinions.
It’s also important that you bring somebody that you trust, and that knows you well. Although your opinion matters most, it’s helpful to have somebody that can give honest feedback and has a very clear understanding of you, your personality, and the type of dress you’re looking for. We suggest bringing your mum, sister, or perhaps your best friend.
How Long Does a Bridal Appointment Last?
Our bridal appointments are very relaxed. We will never rush our brides and always give them as long as they need to try as many dresses as they wish. We usually begin the appointment with trying on dresses that the bride is naturally drawn to. This gives us a good idea of the shapes and styles you like, before we begin making some suggestions. Over the years, we’ve gained great experience when it comes to finding dress shapes that flatter the figure and complement the hair and skin.
When Should I Book in For My Bridal Appointment?
As we give our brides the freedom to try on as many dresses as they wish, we avoid booking bridal appointments at busy times of the day. We give our brides our individual attention, so we recommend booking a mid-week or late afternoon/evening appointment. Often brides will book a day off work to avoid weekends and give themselves plenty of time. Saturdays are our busiest day, so we will only book appointments first or last thing on that day.
Do I Need to Bring Anything with Me?
It’s helpful to have a pair of shoes with a similar heel height to what you wish to wear on your wedding day. If you’re ahead of the game and have already chosen your wedding shoes, feel free to bring them with you. It’s not essential to bring anything else with you for the first appointment.
How Can I Make the Most Out of My Appointment?
In order to get the very most out of your appointment, we recommend that you come in open-minded and try to enjoy the experience the best you can. Please feel free to try on as many dresses as you wish. We suggest taking lots of photographs of the front and back of the dresses too, so you can view them from different angles.
